3d modelling and quantity calculation for the earthwork of an industrial hall in Maglód

Our task was to build a 3D model by using the existing implementation plans to inspect any possible anomalies in design.
A further aim was to verify the volume of earthworks estimated by the constructor and to represent the altitude conditions in an informative way.
Although the plan seemed to be correct at first sight, our model highlighted some critical areas that could have caused serious problems during construction.

Eventually, the total volume of earthworks performed ended up at least 35 percent less than originally estimated, resulting in considerable cost savings for our customer.
